Placenta Encapsulation
You did it!
Your little one is here! Now what? One way to prepare for postpartum is placenta encapsulation. The placenta was your babies home and source of nourishment for the time they were inside you, making it a very special organ! Choosing to encapsulate your placenta for consumption can be a wonderful tool to help with your postpartum recovery. Some of the possible benefits include:
Increased breastmilk supply
Balanced postpartum hormones and an increase in the release of oxytocin (The love hormone!)
An increase in energy
Higher iron and protein levels
Increase in CRH-, a stress reducing hormone
What does encapsulation look like?
Placenta encapsulation can seem a little strange at first, but it has been practiced in other cultures for centuries! If you choose this service, I make it as simple for you as possible by retrieving your placenta from your birth location. Wild Origins uses the raw preparation method unless circumstances require steaming. This method allows for the greatest preservation of beneficial hormones present in the placenta. The process consists of a few simple steps. Your placenta will be dehydrated at food safe temperatures, ground into a powder, and placed in plant-based capsules. No other ingredients are added. After the process is finished, they’ll be delivered to your door!

Tinctures
LONG-TERM USE
Tinctures are made from organic, gluten-free alcohol and a small piece of raw placenta. A tincture allows for extended use of your placenta. Once completed, it can be used for hormonal fluctuations, anxiety, and insomnia. It can also be used for your baby to treat colic, teething, or a rash. Tinctures have a high potency, and 1 drop can be equal to 1 capsule.
Salves
HEALING AND SOOTHING
Salves are made from organic shea butter, almond oil, and coconut oil. One of your placenta capsules will be added in to create this topical remedy. This salve can be used on cesarean incision sites, perineal tearing, hemorrhoids, burns, diaper rash, sore nipples, eczema, and other skin irritations.
